Reggaeton music and plus more
@rodriguez
I do, however I'm not too familiar with a lot of their names, bands and songs. I enjoyed listening to salsa music such as Marc Anthony who is considered a modern salsa singer and performer that blended in a variety of music styles of today. I also enjoyed watching salsa dance.
Ok, that's good. I hope I can close the cultural gap between us. Most Filipinos I met are into rap music. I had no idea that Filipinos like salsa.
@rodriguez
You're right actually, most Filipinos are into rap music.
"Despacito" sung by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee brought salsa back. Several Filipinos listened and danced to this hit music.
There are Filipino folks that do participate in ballroom dance events here in the states whether it's salsa, cha cha, merengue.

This dude is Black, not Pinoy, We know that Filipinos can dance
His half Jamaican, half Filipino. These artists have introduced Jamaican and Caribbean music to the Philippines.
There will be more cultural exchanges as the Philippines and South America have more interaction in the future.
Teenagers listen to rap with hip hop and other music genre and this is annoying to some of their parents and older generation in general. Philippines has a large young population compared to several countries. The average age is only 24.
those 24-year-old will grow up to 35, 45, 55. I saw a few videos of Filipinos dancing to salsa, reggaeton but it's only a minority.
You won't see them on the videos as much. You have to visit the malls, night clubs, restaurant-bars, outdoor events or their house parties and you'll see some of them dance to reggaeton.
There's a Filipino neighborhood in NYC most are into rap music. it's very extremely seldom to see a Filipino listen to salsa or reggaeton.
I have never been to a Filipino establishment, so I don't know.
There are cities in SoCal that have a sizeable Filipino population but I haven't visited those places in awhile.
Filipinos across the ages mainly listens to top 40 music, but there are lots of teenagers and up to 30 something that listens to reggaeton, urban music, hip hop, rap, etc...
My favorite changed month to month, but here's some...
"Me Gusta" by Anuel AA and Shakira
"Muelvo" by Daddy Yankee and Nicky Jam
"TKN" by Rosalia and Travis Scott
"Besame" by Daddy Yankee, Play-N-Skillz, Zion & Lennox
"Tocame" by Anitta, De la Ghetto, Arcangel
"Recuerdo" by Tini, Ricky y Mau
"Ritmo" by Corona, J Balvin, Black-Eyed Peas
"Rojo" by J Balvin
"Definitivamente" by Daddy Yankee, Sech
"Despacio" by Natti Natasha, Nicky Jam and Manuel Turizo
"Perdiendo la Cabeza" by Becky G, Carlos Rivera, Pedro Capo
hahaha you were not bullshitting me. You're an exception, I bet most of the Filipinos are listening to some rap music.
Filipinos are scratching and spinning those old school turntables while playing the rap music out loud.
I should play reggaeton music out loud. Maybe some of the Filipinos might switch over to reggaeton.
Latin Instrumental Music
CNCO sang Reggaeton Lento in the Philippines. CNCO stands for CINCO(Five) as in five members in the band. The band members have ancestries from different countries of Latin America - Mexican, Puerto Rican, Ecuadorian, Dominican and Cuban. Their music genre is considered closer to latin pop than reggaeton which makes them boy band-esque than reggaeton.
Today I mainly listen to reggaeton music.
