Filipinos exemplify the typical Southeast Asian phenotype since they have only a miniscule amount of South Asian and Caucasoid genes in comparison to other Southeast Asian countries.

You could be right on that. But a lot of other SE Asians still look typical Mongoloid and don't show any South Asian or Caucasoid genes in their phenotypes despite having them in their DNA.

Only Vietnamese, Laotians, hill tribes in Thailand and Burma, isolated tribal groups in remote areas in mainland and maritime SE Asia, Eastern Indonesians/Timorese who have very heavy Papuan/Australoid admixture, have less Caucasoid genes than Filipinos.

Don't you think its very ironic and funny that despite the Catholicism, Spanish sounding names, being the most Westernized country in SE Asia and other shared cultural similarities and traditions with Spain and the New World, something that the rest of the region doesn't have, Filipinos have very little Caucasoid admixture on average compared to most SE Asians?

Thoughts?

It's hard to believe that most southeast Asians have a high percentage of N.E Asians.

do you have the source of this study?

Philippines & Indonesians I would think are the most diverse in S.E.Asian because of diversity within the islands.

@qamzardaan

South Indians spread Buddhism and Hinduism in the remote past but it's been awhile compared to Catholicism spread by Spaniards in Philippines.  During those times, South Indians interbred with the local SE Asians quite often and for several centuries which reflects the high percentage of South Asian genes in them today which is somewhere between 10-25%.  Due to close proximity with several SE Asian countries, South Indians continued to interbreed with SE Asians even to this day but probably not as much as before. I'm unaware if South Indians ever actually claimed SE Asian countries.
